Hyperion
I really liked it. At first I thought it's going to be a very heavy read, but it really wasn't. The Sci-Fi aspect is a bit soft (not many technical details), but the plot is good.
Anathem
It's very good. It was hard to dive into, because of all the nomenclature. But once I got past the initial vocabulary hump, I enjoyed it immensely. It's thought-provoking, and in-depth, and just highly satisfying overall.I liked the breadth of the story -- it feels somewhat epic. A wonderful read, all in all.

I just loved this book. Loved the cereal scene, and more, but that's about the only thing I can think of that won't be a spoiler.
